  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons dried basil
  • 2 Tablespoons butter
  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breast, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups sliced mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup reduced-sodium chicken broth or stock
  • 1/2 cup Marsala wine


  1. Mix flour, garlic powder, and dried basil in a shallow dish.
  2. Remove about one-quarter of the flour mixture and place in a separate bowl.
  3. Moisten chicken lightly with water. Coat evenly with the remaining flour mixture.
  4. Melt butter in a large skillet on medium heat.
  5. Cook the chicken pieces for 3 to 4 minutes per side or until golden brown. Do in batches if needed. Repeat with the remaining chicken. Remove chicken from skillet; keep warm.
  6. Add mushrooms to skillet; cook and stir 2 minutes.
  7. Mix broth, wine, and reserved flour mixture.
  8. Add to skillet. Bring to boil.
  9. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes or until the sauce is slightly thickened.
  10. Return chicken to skillet; cook until heated through (165 ┬░F.)
