  • 1 French baguette
  • 4 Tablespoons olive oil, for brushing on bread
  • 15 ounces canned white beans (cannellini), drained, rinsed and coarsely chopped
  • 4 tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil, for the beans
  • 1 Tablespoon red wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon McCormick Gourmet Collection Mediterranean Spiced Sea Salt, for beans
  • 30 fresh basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon McCormick Gourmet Collection Mediterranean Spiced Sea Salt, for sprinkling on top

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 ┬░F.
  2. Slice the bread on the diagonal into 30 (1/2-inch-thick) slices.
  3. Brush the slices with the oil. Place them on a baking sheet.
  4. Bake 8 minutes, or until golden brown.
  5. Cool them completely on a wire rack.
  6. Place the beans, tomatoes, oil, vinegar and spiced sea salt in a medium bowl, then mix until well blended.
  7. To serve, place a basil leaf on each bread slice. Top each with about 1 tablespoon of the bean mixture. Sprinkle all slices lightly with remaining spiced sea salt.

This ideal party appetizer can be prepared a day ahead. Store toasted bread slices at room temperature in a resealable plastic bag. Keep bean mixture refrigerated.
