  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 1/3 cup orange juice
  • 1 Tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cardamom, ground
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pinch white pepper
  • 6 cups mixed lettuce greens
  • 2 cups orange, peeled and sectioned
  • 2 cups strawberries, halved
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans, lightly toasted


  1. For the vinaigrette, mix the oil, orange juice, sugar, cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, salt and white pepper in a small bowl with a wire whisk until well blended.
  2. For the salad, toss the greens, orange sections, strawberries and pecans in a large bowl.
  3. Just before serving, drizzle with the chai vinaigrette, then toss lightly.
