  • 3 inches French baguette, split
  • 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
  • 2 slices mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 4 leaves fresh basil


  1. Preheat a skillet over medium-low heat.
  2. Sprinkle inside of roll with balsamic vinegar.
  3. Layer half of the mozzarella cheese, then the tomato slices and basil leaves, and then the remaining mozzarella cheese.
  4. Close roll and rub outside with olive oil.
  5. Cook on preheated skillet, using another heavy skillet to press.
  6. Cook until toasty brown and golden. Flip to brown other side.
