  • 1 stick cinnamon stick, broken in half
  • 2 whole cloves
  • 2 whole allspice
  • 2 cups apple cider
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract


  1. Place spices in the center of a piece of cheesecloth. Tie tightly with a long piece of string.
  2. Place the spice sachet in small saucepan. Add the apple cider. Simmer over medium heat 10 to 15 minutes or until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Discard spice sachet.
  5. Serve warm.


Make multiple batches of these individual spice sachets for apple cider as gifts. Include a gift tag with mulling instructions.

Party size sachet to make 8 cups of mulled cider: 4 cinnamon sticks, 2 teaspoons whole cloves, 1 teaspoon whole allspice, 2 teaspoons vanilla.
